Reservation
We strive to respond quickly but do not always have internet access. You may expect a reply by email within two days of your reservation request. The detailed information email may follow a day later. If anything is incorrect, please email us. If you have not heard from us within two days of booking, please contact us.
A contract between you and us is concluded when we confirm your reservation. The contract concerns the rental of a holiday accommodation for recreational use, which by its nature is of short duration. Vechtdal Cottage reserves the right to refuse a booking at any time without stating reasons.
Price
We aim to display our prices correctly on our website. In addition to rent, there are two fixed charges: cleaning and tourist tax. We charge a fixed fee for cleaning. The tourist tax is determined by the municipality; we are obliged to collect it on their behalf.
Payment
When you wish to make a reservation, we ask you to transfer part of the rental amount in advance. This secures the accommodation for you. You will receive a booking confirmation by email. Please transfer the remaining balance no later than four weeks before your stay begins. If the reservation is made within one month before arrival, the full amount is due upon booking. We understand if a payment is delayed; we will first send a reminder. In case of late or incomplete payment, we may unilaterally cancel the reservation and will notify you by email. By paying a deposit or the full rent, you confirm that you have read and agree to these general terms.
Security deposit
For a stay at the Vechtdal Cottage, we require a €100 security deposit. Should anything break unexpectedly, we expect you to report it so we can ensure everything is in order for the next guests. After your stay, the deposit will be refunded promptly if everything is in order.
Key
Information about collecting the key will be provided in the weeks prior to your stay. It is not permitted to keep or duplicate the key. The key is provided on loan and remains the property of Vechtdal Cottage. In case of loss, theft, or any other disappearance of the key, a fee of €25 may be charged.
Arrival and departure
Weekend: Friday 15:00 to Monday 10:00
Midweek: Monday 15:00 to Friday 10:00
Week: Friday 15:00 to Friday 10:00
Cancellation
We understand cancellations are often due to unfortunate circumstances. Please contact us so we can find the best solution together (e.g. rescheduling). In principle, the following rules apply:
Cancellations must always be made in writing (by post or email).
Deposits are non‑refundable in case of cancellation.
Cancellation fees: Up to 1 month before arrival: 50% of the cancelled amount.
From 14 days before arrival: 100% of the cancelled amount.
In case of cancellation by us, any amounts already paid will be refunded.
Stay
Our accommodations are smoke‑free. Please inform us in advance if you are bringing pets. A maximum of two pets is allowed; no extra fee applies. Planning to receive visitors during your stay? Please discuss this with us in advance. Subletting or transferring the rental is strictly prohibited.
Complaints
If you have a complaint, please let us know as soon as possible so we can resolve it. We will do our utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Liability
Vechtdal Cottage Ommen accepts no liability for theft, loss, or damage of any kind during or as a result of the stay in our accommodation. We accept no liability for the failure or shutdown of technical equipment, utilities, or the (partial) non‑functioning of the internet. In case of improper use or improper condition of the accommodation upon departure, additional (cleaning) costs may be charged. You are fully liable during the rental period for any damage to the accommodation, its inventory, and all items belonging to the rental object, unless you and your fellow guests can make it plausible that the damage cannot be attributed to you. If you wish to submit a complaint after departure, it must be submitted in writing and with reasons within 14 days after leaving the accommodation.
Departure and final cleaning
Please leave the accommodation as follows:
swept clean,
kitchen inventory washed, dried, and stored in the cupboards,
refrigerator clean and empty,
glass and paper separated from residual waste.
Please report any breakage and/or damage so we can restore everything.
